Dr Ali Reza Alaei is an experienced educator in Information Technology and Computer Science at Southern Cross University with strong experience across academia and industry. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in general and computer vision and machine learning, working on applied, industry-linked projects. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers in leading international venues.

Dr Alaei is particularly engaged in applying emerging technologies to real-world challenges, especially in tourism and environmental contexts. His work supports industry collaboration and provides students with authentic, practice-based learning experiences, aligning closely with the goals of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) by preparing graduates with industry-relevant skills and insights.
