Maddy Langabeer is a passionate practitioner dedicated to creating impactful, reciprocal work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences. As the Engaged Teaching and Learning Curricular Coordinator at UTS’s Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion, she coordinates the Shopfront Community Coursework Program, connecting students with authentic community partners to develop practical skills, civic responsibility, and professional readiness, while ensuring partners also gain meaningful value from collaboration.

Since 2023, Maddy has coordinated the program’s rapid growth, with student participation nearly tripling and community partnerships more than doubling. Her work exemplifies inclusive, community-focused WIL that fosters mutual benefit, bridging higher education and social impact.
