In short, WIL is a strategic partnership between an education provider (like a university or TAFE) and an organization like yours to create valuable, hands-on learning experiences for students that are integrated with their studies. Read more about WIL.

For you, it’s a powerful opportunity to bring fresh energy and new skills into your business while playing a vital role in shaping the next generation of professionals – a critical national priority.

Top Recommendations for SMEs:

  • Start Small: you don't need a year-long internship. A short-term project for few days or weeks is a perfect way to start getting involved.
  • Be Clear on the Goal: a well-defined project with a clear outcome is more likely to be successful for both you and the student.
  • Leverage Their Skills: let students tackle tasks that incorporate their "digital native" skills, like social media, market research, or content creation.
  • Use University/TAFE Support: you don't need a large HR department. Education providers have resources to make the process simple and rewarding for you.
